Rock Otočec 2011 – 1 July – 3 July 2011
This year I was also at Rock Otočec, except this time I stayed all three days. It was awesome! Despite all the rain I tried to enjoy my time there as much as I could. Priority was of course taking photos of the bands, fans and random events on the festival.
On Sunday fans really enjoyed the performance by German band Guano Apes.
Before Guano Apes, Slovenian ska punk band Elvis Jackson provided the proper warm-up.
On Saturday there were among others a lot of popular music bands; The Toasters which were among the first American bands in the third wave of ska, and may be the longest active ska band in the USA,
Slovenian rock band Zaklonišče prepeva,
Croatian pop band Jinx
and Slovenian rock/pop band Zmelkoow.
On Sunday I had to take advantage of better weather so I took quite a lot of photos from various events and people on festival. In addition to Sunday’s weather I also liked the bands that performed that day.
Among the Sunday performers; Slovenian rock band Adam seemed interesting. So far I barely listened to any of their music.
Serbian music band S.A.R.S. got my attention last year with their performance on Festival Lent in Maribor.
I was also impressed by Slovenian rock band The Toronto Drug Bust, which I have never heard of before.
Of all the performes I was definitely most impressed with the English garage rock band The Subways, which provided more than a fair ending of the Sunday evening.
